Commemorative Cross of the House of King Albert

King Leopold III created this bronze gilt cross on 10 May 1934 for award to all living members of the royal households on that date.

Medal for Physical Education and Sports

Sports Medal ribbons

Officially instituted, in three classes (gold, silver and bronze medals) on 23 March 1935 for award to those that rendered signal services to physical education and sports in Belgium or had honoured the country by their success in this domain. An annual attribution of 250 bronze, 80 silver and 20 gold medals was stipulated but the medals were never awarded and were replaced, on 23 May 1939, by the Medal for Sports Merit (see below).

Medal for Sports Merit

Replacing the previous medal by its creation on 23 May 1939, this medal also has an annual quota : 100 bronze, 40 silver and 10 gold medals can be awarded per annum.Various rules govern their attribution but they are mainly awarded for sustained meritorious service in the domain (10 years for the bronze medal, 15 years for silver and 20 years for gold medals) or to athletes to mark brilliant careers : gold medal to Olympic Gold Medallists, World Champions or World Record Holders, silver medal to European Champions, European Record Holders or Olympic Silver Medallists and the bronze medal for remarkable performance on national or international level. Ribbons are identical to the previous medal's.

Commemorative Medal of the 100th Anniversary of the Telegraphic Services

This gilt cross was created on 19 March 1946 by the Prince Regent Charles to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first telegraph line exploitation in Belgium, on 9 September 1846. It was awarded to employees and workmen of the Belgian Telephone and Telegraph Services who had completed, on 9 September 1946, 25 years of good and loyal service.

Commemorative Medal of the 100th Anniversary of the Ostend-Dover Line

This enameled cross medal was instituted on 7 May 1946 by the Prince Regent Charles to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Ostend-Dover boat service and awarded to employees and workmen of this shipping line who had completed, on 1 July 1946, 25 years of good and loyal service.

Commemorative Medal of the 100th Anniversary of the Postal Services

The proper name for this medal is "The Commemorative Decoration for the 100th Anniversary of the issue of the first postal stamp in Belgium and the 75th Anniversary of Belgium's participation in the universal postal union". This bronze medal was instituted on 2 May 1949 by the Prince Regent and awarded to employees and workmen of the Belgian Postal Services who had completed, on 1 July 1949, 25 years of good and loyal service.
