Bronze medal,
26.5 mm with ball suspension. The obverse has a helmeted soldier's head against a wall as
background. On top is "VERDUN". The reverse has a panel (for possible engraving
of the recipient's name) on an oak and laurel branch background. The reverse text is
"ON NE PASSE PAS". The engraver is unknown. It is assumed the medal was
originally manufactured by the firm of Chobillon and later by Mourgeon. |
