THE VERDUN MEDALS

 

REVILLON MODEL

Revillon Medal, obverse

Bronze 27.3 mm medal manufactured by Arthus Bertrand, ball suspension.

On the obverse is a woman's head wearing a mural crown (symbolic for the town of Verdun). In one hand she holds a flag; in the other, a sword. On top is "VERDUN", below "ON NE PASSE PAS". The engraver's name, "REVILLON" can be seen on the right.

The reverse shows a bearded French soldier, in full uniform and pack. The legend reads "En Avant Jusqu'au bout" (Forward till the end) and the Revillon name appears on the right again.
